Hello! I’m Zack Bevan, a student studying at Boise State University in the Games, Interactive Media, and Mobile program (GIMM). I’m currently in my third year, and have mainly specialized in coding and XR development. I'm very passionate about making interactive apps, be they games or educational simulations.
Primarily Unity and Unreal Engine
Unity OpenXR and Meta SDK
Novice HTML, CSS, and JS user.
May 2025 - Present
I currently work with one of my professors and several grad students on ChemVR, a project for creating various chemistry training modules in both VR and WebGL platforms using Unity. My main role is to develop code for the various modules, but I've also 3D modeled some simple assets and setup textures and materials in the Unity URP. I've also filmed and edited training videos for showing students and instructors how to complete each module.
June 2025 - August 2025
With Sigmatech, I worked as a part-time contractor at the National Security Space Institute, as a part of their Digital Learning Team. My job was to assist the team in making supplementary educational games and simulations for the instructors at the NSSI to use in their lessons. During my time there, I primarily worked on three projects: Break Apart XR, an app for viewing 3D models using the Hololens 2, the Space Law Visual Novel, and a prototype for a Satellite Managment VR game.
Jan 2024 - Present
I worked in the GIMM Lab at Boise State. I was part of an outreach and marketing team for the department, making videos and materials to promote GIMM. I also assisted students in accessing GIMM resources and help them work on their projects, from Unity and C#, to HTML and JS.
Jan 2023 - Jan 2024
I worked at the Meridian Libary District's maker space, unBound, where I helped maintain 3D printers, laser engravers, and other cutting-edge technologies, as well as assist library patrons in accessing and using these resources.
Bachelor's Candidate in Games, Interactive Media, and Mobile.
Currently in my third year at Boise State.
High School Degree
Graduated from Rocky Mountain High School in Meridian, ID.
The majority of my experience has been working in the Unity game engine, writing custom code in C#. I've worked in both 2D and 3D, primarily making XR apps. That said, I love the game making process, and am excited to work on some bigger projects this year with GIMM.
While I have less experience working in Unreal overall, I am very familiar with the engine, having used it in one of my classes, as well as working in it for the majority of my time at Sigmatech. I do only have experience working in Blueprints, but I am eager to learn C++ in the future.
While not centric to my professional development, I am very proficient in suite of Adobe CC apps, primarily Premiere Pro and Illustrator, with lesser expertise in Photoshop, InDesign, and Animate. I am also well-experienced in other video-editing softwares as well, having made videos for both MLD during my time there, and the GIMM department at BSU.
Similar to by experience with Adobe, web development is not my expertise, but I am proficient with it. I have just begun learning about nodeJS and mySQL this year, and will continue to refine my programming skills. As it stands, my skills are so-so.

I am very much a novice when it comes to 3D, but I am passionate about it all the same. I'm familiar with Blender, and have made multiple simple models for various projects. This year I'm beginning to learn Maya in one of my classes as well. I hope to someday become proficient enough to be able to model items for my own projects, but for now it is not my main expertise.
